My core motivation as a musician is to inspire and touch all who listen to my music. I find that music is just another form of communication; a way for a writer and a listener can have a conversation, even if writer and listener are from different time-periods, locations, cultures, and biases.

I believe that a mere song and a soul-bearing person can interact at many levels; a person can discover and remember emotions, imagery, and even experience mild euphoria from music's undeniable connection to the soul. I know, these words may all sound very cheesy to you :) but they come from the heart and represent the ideals I try to write each of my songs to.

In addition to all the music that you've experienced in your life, I hope you can experience some of music's beauty through my creations as well.

I write + sing all parts, record all guitars, and program drums, bass, piano, synths, all other instruments/sounds for all the songs on this SoundClick account.
Why this name?
A fresh green leaf fell upon my car in the middle of fall. I recieved this as a devine suggestion for my bandname. =D
Do you play live?
Greenleaf, the band plans on performing their first set of live shows as an acoustic, vocal duet. My cousin, Jimmy Kim and I intend to perform with minimal percussion (percussion via a laptop) where the performance focuses on a melodic, acoustic, vocal sound.

Live Dates:

12/30/2006, 7:30-8:15pm - Jamie's General Bean - Centreville, VA - Free Admission
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Provides easier connections to the artist. Gaps formed between artists and music enthusiasts can be minimized as the internet further develops and thrives in today's digital age.

The internet gives access to so much music for free. I agree with Billy Corgan, "ultimately, music will be free." It is an unavoidable part of music culture.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes.
Band History:
2002-2006 - As a college student with spare time, I wrote and recorded a wide variety of songs on a mic, Ibanez electric guitar, and a laptop. My songs are of the genres: rock, alternative, metal, fusion(rock-hip-hop), hip-hop, folk, acoustic-vocals, ballade, and electronica.

November 2006 - Greenleaf (the performing band) is born: Alex Kim(Vocals, Guitars), Jimmy Kim(Elec./Acoustic Guitars)
