MR LONG STORY:An emcee and producer based in Upstate, New York, who's subject matter is scattered and often perplexing, with instrumentals both self produced and gathered from various artists continentially.
Why this name?
It's a long story.
Do you play live?
To be determined at a later date. Thus far, nothing other than a competition in late 2003.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet, like most anything else that affects music, cannot be given a "right" or "wrong." My answer remains that the internet has expanded the availability of artists previously unheard of, most likely because they weren't "label worthy." This just makes it easier I guess to become an indie artfag, as the medium is readily available; I'm a guilty party. It makes possible international collaborations and discussions between artists, a place to attain advice and, well, fans of course. There are negatives as well, but i'll keep it positive.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I write for myself, others who can relate are cool but not necessary for me to continue.
Band History:
I've been working with hip hop as my medium for a long time, be it through words or rhythms. I'd say the intial entry into the genre was well before I was aware of it's gathering; I was nine and writing rhythmic poetry about everything and anything both at home and in school. One day I heard something on the radio, and wrote poetry to it (I think it was Billy Joel's "Field of Dreams") and my Kerouakesque spoken word emerged from that. More of a brick by brick sort of deal.
