SoundClick artist: Mirage - Southern Rock's Legendary sound has a new Legend in the making..... Mirage

Mirage with it's unique sounds and phrasing is the product of the combination of the two founding members Charlie Brown and Pat McQuiston. There are a variety of seasoned music veterns who rotate in and out of the mix due to convienience and our quest to find the perfect matches.

Why this name?

Mirage was a good name for the band because there was no clear way to classify the music that was being created.

Do you play live?

Playing live for us is always a great experience, we love the interaction between the band and the fans when we're playing. It's an emotional exchange that is hard to beat.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

The internet has allowed a window of access which independant artist didn't have before. While it is not the same as having airplay on mainstream radio, it does bring an interesting alternative to the table. Rather it can actually challenge the delivery system now currently locked up by the lables (main stream radio) only time will tell.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

That would really depend on the deal and what we stand to gain and what we stand to lose. The buisness side of music has never been pretty.

Your influences?

There are a wide range of influences in Mirage's music. There is no doubt that they are a southern band. You can hear hints of Skynard,the Allman Brothers, Stevie Ray Vaughn, but never enough to put your finger on it exactly.
