Los Angeles based singer songwriter Heather Sullivan has used her diverse musical talents to stay afloat not only in an industry but also a city that boasts some of the toughest, most cut throat, competition there can possibly be for a person trying to break through as a musician. Not being bound to only one style of music is what has given Heather constant success. While some artists were busy trying to get themselves played on the radio or worse yet MTV. Heather’s music has found repeated success along with a core fan base on daytime television. When some musician’s talents have limited them to only getting work at certain types of clubs or venues, Heathers talents have earned her gigs at places ranging from the bars and night clubs of Los Angeles all the way to the American Embassy in Cairo, you can say she was America’s ambassador of song. Still while other musicians constantly pitched their home made demos to record labels hoping to get enough studio time to record their first album. Heather has recorded and had a hand in producing four albums of her original compositions
Why this name?
It's my name, I've always liked it.
Do you play live?
Recently I have not been performing in LA. However, as part of my mother's band I've played at Carnegie Hall, Town Hall and The Oak Room in New York. With my own players I've performed at Danny's Skylight Room, The Oak Rome and Joe's Pub in New York. In LA I've played at the House of Blues and the Trubador. Additionally I've played all over the world including the American Embassy in Cairo (Sept 11th 2001).

I love playing live and plan to start performing more.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It will forever change this industry. Unless the major labels wake up and become progressive it will cripple their sales and their businesses. It's not Kansas any more Toto.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Never say never, but, as the labels struggle for profits the deals they offer to new bands will be less attractive and likely more restrictive. I've been around long enough to not want to be bound to a contract in an industry that appears to be going under due to their own short sightedness and greed.
