Grift is a four piece band hailing from Brampton, Ontario, Canada. They rose from the ashes of a band called WIGGAZ and brought it to the next level. Grift combine metal, hardcore, and hip hop in a more tasteful and pleasing way than bands like Limp Bizkit and all that other cheese do, and it shows in the music. Formed in 1996, Grift have released 4 cds to date with 2 pending releases. Not much for playing live anymore, Grift have become more of a studio band, constantly recording more music for the entire Brampton Wrecking Crew's enjoyment.
Why this name?
The name was inspired by the movie The Grifters. Greg & Frank came up with it.
Do you play live?
The boys from Grift have a lot on their plates nowadays. Theo started running his tattoo business fulltime, Greg started running BWC Studios fulltime, Frank is working his ass off and Carlo is now playing drums? In another band. How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
We think it has changed it drastically for the better.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Grift had a few offers but we wouldn't conform to the labels ways so we've always kept it independant with Deadly Venom Productions.
