JENNY CHOI AND THE THIRD SHIFT!

We have a new name now. And a brand new CD, called "Grand and Ashland". Check out some of the songs off of the new album, available for download here.
Why this name?
The alternatives:
a). Jenny Choi and the Teabags.
b). Jenny Choi and the Sandwich.
c). Jenny Choi and Food.
d). Jenny Choi and the Playa Hataz.
Do you play live?
We've been playing around Chicago consistently for about a year and a half. In Champaign-Urbana, we were playing around one or two shows each weekend for a couple semesters... Jenny lets her voice go when we play live, and that always makes for a 'moment'...
If you make it big..?
Any record deal has always been a "we'll-cross-that-bridge-when-we-come-to-it" kind of situation... so I'm not sure how much everyone in the band is thinking about getting "big". We'd definitely like some kind of record deal though.
Band History:
Jenny has been writing and playing out since she was about 15. She got together with Mike on guitar in '97. They got together a big fat band of 11 (with strings and backup singers) in '98. A typical Jenny Choi show is played with Jenny, Mike, Philip Stone on drums, and Tony Aronica on bass. Tony joined us in '00, replacing sound guru Jimmie Myers. The big band (the Polykromatic Ensemble) comes out maybe twice a year...
Your influences?
Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Chicago, Marvin Gaye, Ani DiFranco, Dillinger Four... piano-based, r, pop-punk-y, etc.
Favorite spot?
Maybe everyone in the band would agree on the Highdive in Champaign, IL as one of our favorites to play.
Anything else...?
We are proud to announce that we are currently the most incredible rock band in the universe.
