Renewed faith in the internet and now here I am again. Uploading new songs onto this site. For those of you who don't know, I am a band of one, and I record all of my music downstairs at the kitchen table. Jeremy Lee. Is me. Hope you enjoy it, drop me a line if you are in the area of Smyrna, TN, we'll jam or something.
Why this name?
After thought about other suggested bandnames, (ex. the Moaning Ovaries, Whale Noises, and the Raging Puppet Shoes) I decided being that it's only me for now, the name is subject to change. Ectogasm itself is a bastardization of the name incubus, you know, demon comes to earth to rape women, ghost+orgasm=ectogasm. I swear, the songwriting is better.

Thinking of going ahead and just using my own name eventually, you know the musician songwriter thing is oh so trendy now.
Do you play live?
Not really, I don't quite know how to go about it. If anyone has an idea than let me know. Advice? Opportunity? Let me know.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well aside from the kazaa/donkey/mirc stuff, and even concerning it, the internet I think helps music, if not the music industry. The whole reason I signed up here is through a link from a John Frusciante website, I heard another guy here in the Other Alternative category, D Mercer, so now I feel like I'm a part of something bigger, not because of the "industry" but because songwriting is so concentrated here. (I don't think it's all good mind you, but I still like the sentiment)
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course. I have no tired ideals to try to stick to, (or worse, criticize others with) and I hope I never will. Although I must say, one ideal that will never be tired is to make the music you need to make to make yourself happy. Distribution is the name of the game, and I want to be able to do this for a living.
Band History:
The band started a few years ago, simply jamming on songs we knew (Polly, About a Girl, Nice To Know You, Californication) and then, when we decided to take it as seriously as we could, when I say we I mean myself, bassist, and a drummer- listed below. Unfortunately, transportation issues barred our drummer from making it most of the time, and my bassist simply isn't as committed to making music as I am (oh yeah, and the job thing) so now, until all is made well in the land of Jeremy, recordings will be made by myself and a little bit of magic.

Yep, update here, bassist in a jail, co-guitarist is a homeowner with more than a couple dependents. So I'm just a solo artist now.
