IntelliGents are T.H.E.O.R.Y. (True Happiness Expresses Our Real Youth) and Joey T. We bring truth to our lyrics and don't sugar coat anything we say. We use our minds to touch the heart. Therefore, we are IntelliGent.
Why this name?
It came about from the fact that we use our intelligence when we rap and we present ourselves as gentlemen (for all the ladies) which makes us the IntelliGents.
Do you play live?
no live shows (yet). Done our share of corner freestyle battling, stage battling. Done radio spots. Still climbing the ladder hoping to reach the sun.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Whether we were getting paid or not, I think any focus on us is good. Only myopic (closed minded) people can shut us down.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I think everyone wants to make it. Music is our dream and it's also a career we want to pursue, so if the right deal came along, there wouldn't be a question whether we'd sign or not.
Band History:
Theory has been making beats for 7 years now and just started recording about a year ago. Joey T has been doing all kinds of different music since he was 14. He plays the drums and any other instrument he can get his hands on.
Your influences?
Joey T would have to say the Beatles. Theory is influenced by so many, that to name some would leave me wondering who I may have left out.
Favorite spot?
We love Colorado and want to put us on the map for musical talent.
