play lo-fi play hi-fi  Tatu - Friend or Foe (DJ Arkos Mix)
play lo-fi play hi-fi  Feelings (Promo Mix)
DJ Arkos credits about 20 club remixes since 1998. If you are into club music, you will remember his most popular. This was a remix of Madonna's "Like A Prayer" a few years back. It was overplayed on radio due to its popularity and catchy sound. Basically, it was a cross mix between Madonna and Black Legend. This was the work of DJ Arkos and it was the remix that he thought would go nowhere. He made it late one night out of boredom with no thought that it would interest anyone. This mix became his most noted track to date.
DJ Arkos has revived many old classics and has made remixes of many artists including Kool & The Gang, Stevie B, Ce Ce Peniston, Crystal Waters and that's just to name a few.
Why this name?
The title DJ ARKOS was given to me by a co-worker in 1998. Before that I went under the name DJ ROC and was teamed up with another Toronto DJ. Together we were, ROC & EVIL P.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is a great place to get exposure. There is no running around involved and it is easier to get your music out and get heard by the right people.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would like to sign with a big label but that would be for a different genre of music.
Band History:
In December 1994, a force reunited and brought together DJ EVIL P (Patrick) and DJ ARKOS (Chris). They first met and became friends in elementary school when Patrick had just come to Canada. Patrick later moved from Toronto to Etobicoke sometime during grade 7 or 8. They did not talk for years after. During grade 10, New Years, they met each other downtown at City Hall during the yearly outdoor New Years Eve bash. They had already been informed previously by mutual friends that they were both spinning House Music records and now by chance they reunited and decided instantly to become a musical team since they both shared the same passion for House Music.

In the early months of 1995, they got their first opportunity at a local bar/club in North York, Toronto. This was a small venue known only locally but they managed to fill up the house every night that they spun there. Not long afterwards, Chris and Patrick decided to try and get a spot at a more known venue somewhere in the downtown Toronto core. They stumbled across a club called The Tunnel on Adelaide St. in the club district of Toronto and that's where they met MC Flipside and his crew. DJ Arkos & DJ Evil P captured a Wednesday night spot at this downtown venue and then they also joined MC Flipside to do a radio show on York University's CHRY 105.5 Sunday nights. This was the beginning of a long venture for these 2 young DJ's who were just starting out in making their way through the wild nightclub industry of glamorous Toronto Ontario.

When it comes to spinning records, DJ Arkos has played alongside just about every Toronto DJ and many big name DJ's and artists globally including Moby and Armand Van Helden.

Chris credits about 20 club remixes in his name since 1998. If you are into club music, you will likely remember his most popular mix. This was a remix of Madonna's "Like A Prayer" a few years ago. It was highly played on radio due to its popularity and catchy sound. Basically, it was a cross mix between Madonna and Black Legend. This was the work of DJ Arkos and it was the remix that he thought would go nowhere. He made it late one night out of boredom with no thought that it would interest anyone. This mix became his most noted track to date.

Over the years, DJ Arkos has revived many old classics and has made remixes of many artists including Kool & The Gang, Stevie B, Ce Ce Peniston, Crystal Waters and that's just to name a few.

In 2003, Chris teamed up with another local from Toronto, Max Ferberov aka DJ Alien. Together, they worked on several projects for New York based record label, Onasys Records. Throughout the year of 2003, Chris also worked in production for a Canadian label working with local Dance artists.
