Mechanized Metal / Industrial hybrid powerhouse band that mixes pure aggression with groove-based rhythms and amazing songwriting. Definitely a new force in the stagnant world of music.
Why this name?
My last name is Davis. I originally had the name DEIMOS LAB. Deimos is the 2nd moon of Mars, and also means "panic, anxiety" in Greek. But the "D" can mean a number of things......
Do you play live?
Yes, we do play shows. We use the drum programs instead of a live drummer, and we also use a video projector to show video images that we have created ourselves to add another dimention to our shows.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Good and bad, honestly. For starving young bands, it is a great tool to get the music out to people that will like it. Great for promotion and building contacts. But when people just abuse it and "steal" tunes instead of buying the bands' CDs, that is going a bit too far.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course!!!
Band History:
We are former memebers of SEVEN FOOT SPLEEN. We have been together for about 2 months now, and growing stronger everyday!!!
Your influences?
Kiss, Black Sabbath, Credence Clearwater Revival, Godflesh, etc... We like anything that is good, you know? Anything from '70s rock to psychedelia, to heavy metal, to new age, to whatever floats our boats. But, our influences do not directly affect our sound as a band. We let the natural influence of society, our surroundings, the landscapes... That is our main influence.
Favorite spot?
No faves, except for London, England. We have not played there, but hope to sometime!
Equipment used:
On the synthesis end we use Access Virus A and B (2 of each), Nord Lead 2X, Lead 2 and Nord Modular G2, Yamaha RS7000 for sequencing and the drums, Korg Mono/Poly synth, Synthesizers.com modular synth system, Moog Voyager and a Korg EX-800 rack mount synth.
