One of the finest upcoming Hip-Hop groups in the Midwest, 2 Real 4 da Mind the Colorado based group made their debut in the music business in 2002. Recording their first album, “Color Blind” in a recording studio created by group member K-OSS. Color Blind’s two hits where “Watz Up” which was about 2 Real discussing world issues like Poverty and Racism. Another hit song was “R.I.P.” which was about the attacks on September 11, Targeting George Bush and the general public. Color Blind, was a very challenging experience for the group. 2 Real had a message and it was clear, they where speaking out against Racism, Violence, Poverty, Politics, and many other social issues. “The hardest part of promoting this album was that our message was clear and no one wanted to hear all that song after song.” Said K-OSS, describing Color Blind.
The Group comprised of K-OSS (Jimmy Macias), Siklone (Anthony Romero), and Leezy (Larry Harris). Now are recording their sophomore album “A Storm is Commin”. Which contains the hits “A Storm is Commin”, which talks about 2 Real as a group. “Stories” is another fan favorite; this is more of a comic style song where Siklone, Leezy, and K-OSS confess their secrets about the people they meet at clubs and parties. 2 Real still keeps their message in songs like “Pouring rain” where 2 Real talks about three different situations of people growing up in the ghetto and how easy it is to fail in this society.
2 Real 4 da Mind has a very unique sound consisting of fast slick rhymes; with slower down south rap all mixed with an R&B style of singing. Not only does 2 Real have a Variety in the sound they also have a great variety in the songs and beats. Every track is different then the other. 2 Real has songs for every fan. It is hard to find someone who doesn’t like at least one of 2 Real’s songs.
2 Real has performed at many shows, schools, and protests all around the state of Colorado, also performing in Las Vegas at the Palms Hotel. The largest crowd 2 Real has performed for contained about 2,000 people. 2 Real 4 da Mind is gradually gaining credibility from producers, other artists and most importantly, fans of all ages ranging from elementary to senior citizens.
2 Real 4 da Mind has talked to many record labels such as local independent labels to labels of the stature Atlantic, Thugline, Major Label entertainment, and Deftone. Despite the talk of deals 2 Real is still self employed under K-OSS’ record label 24 Nocturnal only because they have yet to find a legit deal.
