Gorgeous Girl has produced and released over 100 songs in techno, trance, and other dance styles in various media formats (vinyl, CD, MP3) under various names since 1989. She's worked with noted deejays and studio engineers/producers and her music has been heard in clubs, raves, and indie films.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet allows a lot of smaller artists like myself to get heard worldwide. It's a lot more economical to send e-mail promos to people than full press kits and CDs.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course! This old hag is still looking for a contract. :)
Your influences?
I look up to my music teachers in elementary school who taught me how to read and write music, much of which I have forgotten. Beyond the theory, there are many remixers I look up to, including Shep Pettibone, Little Louie Vega, David Morales, Jonathan Peters, Chus & Ceballo, Junior Vasquez, Peter Presta, and more.
Favorite spot?
Philadelphia. It's like a little New York.
