well, i would tell you all about how i am a one-[wo]man band hailing from the wild metropolis of Youngsville, NC, however:
1. "one-[wo]man band" just might be the most corny thing i could imagine typing (i'm sick of hearing it, really. lets come up with a new cheesy slang for what i do!)
2. Youngsville is to redneck mecca what harlem is to thugville. No one here even knows what a metropolis is...
3. Finally, neither of these poor discriptions do more than make incoherant lines on a blueprint... an AUDitory blueprint, at that.
another simile bites the dust.
ok here are the basics: i write it, i play it, i sing it, i record it. then, i change it entirely, and re-do the process, but keep at least one element from the first draft. i continue doing this until im either sick of the song or satisfied. i typically have 3-4 versions of songs before i move on.
then, apparently the next step is to make a collection of these songs and burn them onto cds, and then upload them on to sites such as this. the end. =)

Why this name?
i was born to have this bandname... weeellll, maybe that's not exactly the chronology of it..
Do you play live?
yes, i do. at least twice a week. plus random jams.
and i have special moments all the time. i'm like a walking hallmark card. heh.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
it is an issue of supply and demand... apparently a cd jewel case and a cd insert DOESNT actually cost 15 dollars.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
small-med. sized labels, definatly. astralwerks or smaller. certainly not a major label. it's not about money or benefits or BS. it's just about trying to do the best job of expressing your ideas, and if somebody would actually want to listen to it, great. but prostituting my life away to a big label isnt exactly in my goals. i'll happily make music for the rest of my life, even if nobody else hears it ever again.
Your influences?
nearly everyone on Sirius' Left of Center channel; the postal service; air; (js)bach; waterdeep; sarah MC-i-couldnt-spell-her-last-name-if-i-tried (particularly the mixed album); BJORK; queen adreena; mars volta;
Favorite spot?
as if i would tell YOU. ;)
Equipment used:
Korg Triton Studio LE 88-key; Seagull (Acoustic Guitar); Gibson Epiphone (The Les Paul Electric Guitar Rip-off); Samick (Electric Guitar); I also have a lovely microphone that i purchased from wal-mart. it prices in at a whooping $9.99--needless to say, i am saving up for a microphone that has slightly more ambition.
Anything else...?
later this fall, i will have a poetry book being published. look out for details.
