Belgian deep, dark ambient with increasing funeral doom influences. Negativity with a gloomy, grey lining.
Why this name?
Angkor (the Cambodjan temples) as a symbol of past glory and forgotten splendor
Ankh = Egyptian for life (to avoid the obligatory Latin) and an anchor, both as a symbol of resurrection, rescue and hope
These three themes are omnipresent in the lyrics and the ideas behind the music.
Band History:
Ankhor started somewhere in 2004 as an outlet for ideas and emotions that did not fit into the other bands/projects of the band members.

In sharp contrast to what some sites mention, there was never any release (official or unofficial) though 1 song not found on the net should have appeared on a label compilation in 2004/2005. This compilation never saw the light of day.
Other than that there were no release plans though the initial surprisingly good reception of "And where he went" made us think of a theme that would be suitable for a full release.

One song has been in the works in 2009/2010 for future release on a compilation cd/cd-r.
Your influences?
Doom, especially funeral doom; dark ambient. Also blackmetal, but that isn't reflected in our music.
