I am a games composer and I like to experiment with different styles of music. My ambition is to compose music for video games, Japanimation and also live action movies, I hope to one day be working within the Japanese game industry.
Why this name?
My name is Robert but some people call me Bobby, and going back a few years now when I was thinking of an artist name there was an actor that I liked who I thought had one of the best names ever; Obba Babatunde. I just added an extra B to make it flow...hence my name is Bobbybabbatunde.
Do you play live?
At this moment in time I do not perform at any live events, although I am hoping to incorporate my sounds into a performing band in the coming years.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
MP3 gives both the industry and the artist (both signed & unsigned) the freedom to share music with the world. For the industry...the pool of talent has increased to an endless state of selection whereas for the artist it gives them more opportunity to get their music listened to by almost anyone, anywhere.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would like to sign with a major label that I respect or has artists that I respect under its wing.
Band History:
I began creating music back in high school when I was studying Music as my main subject, I developed a passion for music during this time specifically due to the attention of a video game that was gaining wide popularity.
The game was 'Final Fantasy VII' which will come as no surprise to many people as the music from the game is outstanding, upon listening to the music from FFVII I knew then what I wanted to do.

After school I then moved onto college whilst creating music in my free time, during this period I got to know a friend that I had vaguely known in high school....as I discovered that he could create his own video games we decided to work on projects together.
Ever since then we have been working on gaming projects together and this is where my passion lies, now more experienced and creative I am entering an advanced stage of tuition which I hope will lead to greater things....for both me, and my friend.
Your influences?
I draw influence from most types of music but as my main interest is in video game music...my influences are obviously those that create music for games professionally, such artists as Nobuo Uematsu, Yoko Shimomura, Masashi Hamauzu, Noriko Matsueda, etc.
As you can see all of my idols are Japanese....this is why my ambition is to be part of the Japanese games industry, at the center of all that inspires me.
