Currently a solo female singer; I also play guitar (electric & acoustic) & bass guitar. My music influences are mostly 80s & 90s alternative, goth-rock, new-wave, post-punk, & similar bands & singers. Also, i wanna bring the "rock" back into "goth rock" & merge modern electronic sounds with the 80s goth scene, & still make it accessible. I'm looking for others to play with, but I have posted songs of my own here that i'm working on getting recorded soon.
Why this name?
This is just my online handle name... nothing fancy, just descriptive of me I'd say. I'm pessimistic in many ways, but also hopeful... a "realist-slash-dreamer" (guess what movie that's from). The mystic part just comes from how I think others think I am... weird & mysterious. Basically I just thought it sounded cool.
Do you play live?
I have done some solo acoustic shows & played bass guitar with some bands in Dallas, which ranged from new-wave, space-rock, & hard rock. I'm primarily a classical musician, & have performed in many venues across the country.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes the lesser-known bands, musicians, & singers more accessible!! Without the internet, people wouldn't know of them & would have to settle with the mindless rubbish on the radio today.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
it would depend on the terms & conditions... but i don't think my music is mainstream accessible enuff... unless i start writing pop tunes & showing cleavage :-P
Band History:
I don't have a band yet...it's just me right now on vocals, bass & guitar. I've been singing since I knew I could sing... sang in choirs in school & did some talent shows. I've played both guitars for years, & finally got the urge to sing songs of my own.
Your influences?
Favorite bands: The Cure, Depeche Mode, Echo & the Bunnymen, New Order, Bauhaus, Alice in Chains, Clan of Xymox
Favorite female singers include: Garbage, Juliana Hatfield, Tori Amos, Sheryl Crow, The Pretenders, Blondie, Siouxsie Sioux, Cocteau Twins, Concrete Blonde, Faith & the Muse

Favorite spot?
i miss Chicago, but i love Austin... & it's a great music town, so I can't complain!!
Equipment used:
I don't have any fancy equipment, but I love techno/electronica, & would be interested in lending vocals to anyone interested if we had similar musical tastes.
Anything else...?
I've been playing music since I was 11... it's my hobby, college degrees, it's even my job... & it's my life. Check out the listed MySpace page for completed recordings that were done in Chicago... this page is just for demos, so I will post more demos & updated demos. Stay tuned for more music & comments are welcome!
