play lo-fi play hi-fi  Do you get what you need...?
The Buzz11 crew serves up - trippy unfiltered drums and stomach tugging basslines by the kilo.
Subliminal boss Bob Sylvester delivers sublime mixes that are on a dub-house merry-go-round with a dose of lukewarm, uptempo, soft focus, melodic trance basis aka "everlasting repeat basis".
Why this name?
Buzz11? Well, we are absolute fans of Buzz Lightyear, SpaceRanger at Starcommand & 11 is based on the mission of Appolo 11...
Do you play live?
Nop. We are an exclusive studio / internet band. But who knows. Never ever say never...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Music distribution is no longer "controlled" by the majors. We are not talking about "mp3 music pirates" but about musicians
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. If they make a "proposal" we can't refuse...
Band History:
Buzz11, very active and full of life, delivers stories of life in general & as a group they represent pure energy. Buzz11 can be traced back to 1992. The original line up of Buzz11 (formerly known as S.M.K.) recorded a demo tape entitled "Dream out Loud" in 1992. It was followed by two demos: "Carwashend" (1993) and "Sorbet" (1993). In 1993, during a very politically correct electronic scene, Natural Sound Productions released their CD sampler "New Collection of electronical music from Luxembourg Vol. 2" including S.M.K.'s "Dream out Loud", "Carwashend" and "Sorbet". Critics hailed their music as "most worse ever heard"... Bob Sylvester explained, "Frustration, spoiled relationships and growing up/old motivated our first musical steps, I guess it shows in our music." Bob spent the rest of the 90ties, experimenting (musically) & gaining ground with each song. He appeared as a "guest" in side projects like the underground radio show "Chicken Stomach", trying his hand at producing other bands. In november 1998 Bob Sylvester asked friend and co-writer Ramon Mitarbeit to tackle the vocal department. With no time wasted, Ramon Mitarbeit released a limited edition EP "Irrespirable... " (named after the result of a hot spicy Indian meal). This soon came to be recognized as an independent classic and got praised on air plays as being a "very strange but cool song". In early summer of 1999 Buzz11 recorded / sampled some material, including the song "Ambino" with guest / fill, organist Greg Sylvester from LUXUS. The bands first full-length demo "Best of Electro Acoustic" was released in 2000. The same year Bob produced bands like "XXX" (a funraphardcorepunkrock band) & "TECHNOCOWS" (techno / trance). Now, with new-found enthusiasm, founding member Bob Sylvester is back! Buzz11's CD "Virtual Voltage" has been released on 4th of July 2001. The first "Buzz11 featuring RAMON MITARBEIT" CD, called "Mangue & Vanille" is out since 4th january 2002. The Ramon Mitarbeit track "Elle te sousse" has been remixed by Chicken'Mo. This track, written by Romain Junck (bass) / Willy Pultz (guitar) & rearranged by Chicken'Mo (keyboards) was also a part of the "BLUE BASTARD RETURNS" cd, released in december 2001 and introduced to the local scene with a 15 bands-festival at the "Culture Factory" in Esch (G.D. of Luxembourg). In this track "Ramon Mitarbeit" puts in the picture a story about dependence and tells the listener about THE compulsive addiction to the cigarette which SUCKS, or like he says "this terrible mistress sucks you." Press reviews
D'Land 01/25/02, Jean-Michel Treinen about the Radio ARA "Blue Bastard Return's" compilation : "The real poets and creative artists are to be found in the category "Indies"..... Ramon Mitarbeit had an very pleasantly effect in our respectable ears. He convinced us with a Gainsbourg like meditation about cigarettes...." .
Tageblatt 01/02, RoK about the "Buzz11 /Ramon Mitarbeit" contribution to the "Blue Bastard Return's" compilation : The only track which we liked all over, comes from the so far unknown "Ramon Mitarbeit" which repects at least today's "musical spirit", like " Old School" and "Dirty", and presents almost like Afroman and Stefan Raab a zippy and relaxed "Smoker's song".
www.disagreement.net, 2002, The Return Of The Bloe Baaschtert ...One of the most boring parts are Ramon Mitarbeit's spoken words about a cigarette.
