Brian Wilson said of his epic work Pet Sounds, "I wanted to make the listener feel loved." Those words have always remained with me and I hope to share loving, healing sounds with the listener as well.
Music
I was in a rut and Tony Hearn suggested a 3-chord rock'n'roll track - this is the result. I like the cheesy underwater guitar solo! ;-)
Melodic 70s pop styled track.
Rocking 4-part harmony
As life gets complicated, the answer is childlike faith...
When your dreams break your heart, you can cry on my shoulder. Faithful love will never fail you...
This track has been played over 12,000 times on SoundClick.com. Thanks to all who shared this listening experience!
A hat tip to The Beatles' Second Album - and a fresh new sound for those too young to remember that great experience. Highest position in Pop was #3; Highest position in subgenre Pop Rock was #2.
This song is a confession of weakness and a musical journey from Pet Sounds to God's ears.
This is my version of Tony Hearn's instant surf rock classic. Hot rod harmonies and big surf beat = lots of summer fun! (highest chart position: # 2 in subgenre Pop Rock).
A popping little rocker with a wink and a nod to the Fab Four... (highest position reached was # 1). Total songs: 2,052
Just a demo with John, Paul, George and Ringo in mind...it was raining this morning. I know its derivative but I grew up with the Fabs...;)
Highest charts position in subgenre: # 2 (1,801 songs currently listed in Alternative > Brit Pop)

Life is good when your dreams come true!
Johnny with Iraqi Soldier 2008 Baghdad, Iraq
10 July 2008 "In Malibu"
1982- I wanted to be #1 in the Nation
Why this name?
The three of us (me, myself, and I) reached consensus after a nasty power struggle.
Do you play live?
I play live in Church, coffee houses, in the combat zone in Iraq (I am a soldier on active duty), at ceremonies, wherever I can.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives the little guys a fighting chance. It eliminates some of the middle men and gives an immediate contact opportunity between the listener and the artist.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Absolutely! I'm available today! :P
Band History:
I played in bands in Richmond, VA in the 80s as Johnny Proctor and the Fabulous Noys, Johnny Proctor and Bad, and the Jammin' Joe Realm. I have opened for Phil Keaggy and played extensively as a worship leader in Church. As an active duty soldier, I have played a lot at chapel services, Prayer Breakfasts and deployments.
Your influences?
The Beach Boys, Beatles, Phil Keagy, Four Freshmen, Israel's Hope, Lamb, Nat King Cole, The Jam, Harry Gore, Roy Orbison, Patsy Cline, Jan & Dean, John Michael Talbot, George Gershwin.
Favorite spot?
The Beach!!!!!!!!
Equipment used:
Roland BR532 Digital 4-Track recording station and pawn shop instruments. I have a fairly nice tambourine, though. I always record in flip flops.
Anything else...?
I LOVE talking music with anybody! Please tell me what you like/dislike about my music at abnjumpmaster56m@yahoo.com and PLEASE listen to more than one song because they're all different! Thanks for checking me out! :)

Hi Johnny,
Thank you for coming by and for listening to my latest humble offering.
I, like you, also heard a Pedal Steel in my head that would have blended very well, but though I have one on my keyboard, I have NO idea how to make it sound real, or even good...I know it has to do with bending the notes, but what I hear in my head is very complicated, and I haven't even tried to do anything that direction....but I might try it when I have a reasonable amount of time just to see what I come up with...for lack of time I was unable to run any kind of mad experiments.
I've come to understand the music is what it is, message-based and intended for the listener to relate to.
And a great deal of stress release for me.
I actually listen back to many songs, as they speak to me, too.
It's a funny thing when I write..sometimes I don't relate until later, when I need something to help me. And I don't really care that it's me, I'm needing what's in the message at the time I need it.
I fully understand going back and listening to Rick's Song...it was written for him, but yet others have found the same solace that you have in that particular song.
I've got some others that I still haven't put together yet, but I will.
Have a great week, my friend!
Thanks again for coming by, you are always welcome whenever you can come by.
Blessings,
Tammy

It's the dead of winter; and this song makes me want to take a running jump into the pool for some FUN!!
Hey, I like this, Johnny; can't tell you've been in a rut at all...great comeback!
Great throwback to the 60's era, I did NOT think the solo was cheesy at all! You ought to know better than that; you've got ALOT of talent, my friend.
I'm on my second listen...and I STILL want to take a jump into that pool! LOL!!
Thanks for sharing; I enjoyed the listen!

Hey JP,
Your back with a vengeance! Classic 60s surf rock making me fall on the floor in an uncontrollable urge to go into the RFP.
This track stands up with any of your Beach classics. Vocals, instrumentation all there. Love the ending too!
Glad to see you back in the saddle.
P.S. Ok Headphones on now. THis sounds great!
