Brian Wilson said of his epic work Pet Sounds, "I wanted to make the listener feel loved." Those words have always remained with me and I hope to share loving, healing sounds with the listener as well.

Life is good when your dreams come true!
Johnny with Iraqi Soldier 2008 Baghdad, Iraq
10 July 2008 "In Malibu"
1982- I wanted to be #1 in the Nation
Why this name?
The three of us (me, myself, and I) reached consensus after a nasty power struggle.
Do you play live?
I play live in Church, coffee houses, in the combat zone in Iraq (I am a soldier on active duty), at ceremonies, wherever I can.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives the little guys a fighting chance. It eliminates some of the middle men and gives an immediate contact opportunity between the listener and the artist.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Absolutely! I'm available today! :P
Band History:
I played in bands in Richmond, VA in the 80s as Johnny Proctor and the Fabulous Noys, Johnny Proctor and Bad, and the Jammin' Joe Realm. I have opened for Phil Keaggy and played extensively as a worship leader in Church. As an active duty soldier, I have played a lot at chapel services, Prayer Breakfasts and deployments.
Your influences?
The Beach Boys, Beatles, Phil Keagy, Four Freshmen, Israel's Hope, Lamb, Nat King Cole, The Jam, Harry Gore, Roy Orbison, Patsy Cline, Jan & Dean, John Michael Talbot, George Gershwin.
Favorite spot?
The Beach!!!!!!!!
Equipment used:
Roland BR532 Digital 4-Track recording station and pawn shop instruments. I have a fairly nice tambourine, though. I always record in flip flops.
Anything else...?
I LOVE talking music with anybody! Please tell me what you like/dislike about my music at abnjumpmaster56m@yahoo.com and PLEASE listen to more than one song because they're all different! Thanks for checking me out! :)

you sure you aren't the beach boys? man you got it nailed here. just an all around excellent job on this song. the vocals are so cool.
Dude, I appreciate your very thoughtful comments on my cover of David's song. smile :)

I can understand very well what you are saying about David's timing/melodies; but even your own melodies are sometimes complicated; although the timing is where it needs to be in each one.

David always teased me about bringing the collaborations we did into proper timing; and She Is the Reason was one of those...the piano, drums and bass were mine; his guitar added a good flavoring that rounded out the whole melody.

He always heard one thing, I heard another.

Johnny, honestly, I don't believe your musical days are done; as I believe God has more new songs for you to create and put together...they just haven't arrived yet. smile :)

I'm doing better though I haven't put together anything else just yet.

I'd known you hadn't come to SC for some time, but somehow I knew you'd show up shortly whenever you got ready to.

God still has His Hand upon you just as He always had; and always will.

May God continue to work with you; within your life, and within the lives of your family. smile :)

I do look for some more music from you; given some time...and if not, it would be because you were fighting His gentle encouragement.

Thanks again for coming by my friend. smile :)

Blessings to one and all,
Tammy big grin :D
Dropped by to spin some of your music tonight. Always inspirational, no matter what you think or even say, Johnny. smile :)
Dude, don't worry about being in a different phase of your life at this point. The music will return given time, inspiration and inclination. smile :)

I can remember being there a few times in my life. smile :) But the inspiration, etc. has always returned with something new.
It will for you, too. smile :)

Usually, God's intention is to allow us to experience a few more things that will contribute in a positive way to the new songs He wants to give us in the future. smile :)

I've seen where He wanted me to live something through, and I have indeed seen the experience come "alive" within the next songs He gave me. smile :)

In other news:

I had thyroid surgery on July 22nd; they removed my thyroid; it was greatly enlarged and I had 5 nodules; neither would quit growing; not to mention I was suffering from Hyperthyroidism.(overactivity of the thyroid gland)

From what the doctor said it was so big the "legs" of it reached halfway up the front of my neck; it took both surgeons pulling and tugging to get it all out.

He said it had been slowly choking and smothering me to death, not to mention it was deep within my neck. I knew, but I'd had to take the anti thyroid meds first for a period of time, to get the levels down to as near normal as they could go before I could undergo any procedure.

That was the reason I'd dropped out of the musical scene for a good while...it was becoming a hard strain for me to sing; not enough air to work with.

I felt so bad some days it was all I could do just to get up and work.

Tell you what, death by thyroid would NOT have been a good thing. Bad enough I'd had the feeling of a constant "lump" in my throat; and by the time I underwent surgery, I could barely sing though I could still talk; but even that was a strain on me.

But you know, the most important thing was the fact that the Lord was with me throughout; He'd been with me beforehand, and He said He'd bring me through it all; and though I suffered some serious complications after the surgery, I came through, just like He said I would. smile :)

Anyhow, to see if I could even sing again, I made an attempt to cover David Lunbeck's song She Is the Reason a few days ago. I did the sanging with no practice to speak of; it started as a little experiment, because I was unable to sing lower, like I did before; so I went higher, because that was easier for me. smile :)

Surprisingly, it seems I've found a voice within me that I hadn't heard since I was young, dumb, and about stupid. LOL!!

Thought I'd let you know so you can critique me; and shoot me dead for covering such a sad song...but you know, I always liked it; and was determined that I would be brave enough to cover it some day, LOL!! So, either give me a medal or shoot me at sunup! LOL!! smile :)

I had to figure out how to fit my vocal to the song in its original key without killing myself, LOL!! I think I accomplished that much. smile :) Well, I could have re-keyed it for a better fit; but that would have meant taking out David's guitar, and I didn't want to do that; he was and is too good to just cut out. smile :) So, I worked with it as it was and is. smile :)

You always did like the higher ranges out of me when I reached those; and you get plenty of that in this one. smile :)

Well, crap, it might help if I told you where the song is...I've got my cover uploaded to my page, and David has his copy of my cover at Mixposure under his band name, The Full Quid.
