Dave Gearhart is a renowned contemporary worship leader, songwriter, and accomplished musician and composer, writing contemporary Christian songs since 1999. Dave has pooled his talents and put a few of his songs together to produce this solo artist album. With the inspirational Christian lyrics set to country and rhythm and blues arrangements, it is truly an upbeat and uplifting album.
It is our prayer that this album will minister to you and your friends who may want something other than a hard rock or gospel or soft worship style of music. Hopefully, this is somewhere in between all that and you can offer your friends who like this kind of music a different look at who Jesus really is. He is the ANSWER. - Dave and Dave.

Why this name?
Messenger came about by wanting to bring people the Message of God's Word through this music. Who else would do that but - the messenger...
Do you play live?
I lead worship now and then at the United Methodist Church in Tujunga, California. I led worship at the Aldersgate Renewal Ministires week-long annual conference in Kentucky this year. I also lead worship at weekend conferences on the West Coast through Aldersgate Renewal Ministries who are located just north of Nashville, Tenn.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's all at your fingertips! I used to ride a bicycle to the nearest record store to get the latest Beach Boy record album. Now, I can surf in my own home on the internet for the latest in music. Too cool...!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Duh...! Only if Dave Dunn of D Studios, the Executive Producer of this album, goes with me.
Band History:
"The band" on this album is just Dave. He's been playing guitar and drums for many years, the bass for about 4 years, and taught himself the blues harp (harmonica) about three years ago.
Your influences?
I thought I was a blues-based songwriter. Stevie Ray Vaughn was an influence. Some of these songs came out sounding country. Go figure! Brian Duncan is a favorite Christian singer.
Favorite spot?
I love Maui... so cool. Yet, my soul soars in California's Yosemite Valley. I wish I could have walked and camped there 100 years ago.
Anything else...?
Dave and I have played some of these songs before church services and it's really cool to see people tapping their feet to the beat of the music. This is a fun, uplifting album with a few easy songs and a little social challenge in "How Long Can You Tread Water". Check out www.davegearhart.com. Let me know what you think. God bless you all!
