play lo-fi play hi-fi  Rolled Ovah
I would like to take this opportunity to say salutations to fans & critics, as well as offer condolences to wack mc's, no matter your region. I'm known as Sik Lew Kokran, wack rhyme fighter.
Why this name?
Lew is my first name. When I first started, I never incorporated my name. One day, I was writing a flow that was particularly ill, and in that verse, Sik Lew was born. I was initially Sik Lew Kavorkian, but had to drop Kavorkian, due to copyright issues. Kokran came from a metaphor in a rhyme, which implied that my technique between the sheets could be equated with hiring Johnny Cochran as your attorney, the results would be that you would get off. Thus, Sik Lew Kokran.
Do you play live?
I play anywhere I can. I absolutely love performing live. There's nothing like being able to experience the audience's feedback, live and in person. If it's hot, they'll let you know. If it's wack, then they're certain to let you know.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet brings the music industry to the small fries, those who don't have deep pockets to do an all out promotional blitz.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would have to have certain stipulations met, such as not sacrificing my integrity as an artist, creative control, things of that nature. If I could get a deal and just do me without someone trying to package or pigeon hole me, then I'm all for it.

Your influences?
My musical influences are few. My man Al E. Katt, Nas, Rakim & Kool G. Rap.
Favorite spot?
I don't have just one. I have to represent both Cincinnati, OH, which set the foundation for who I am, as well as Inkster, MI, which put me up on so much game and a deeper understanding of how real and cutthroat it is out here in these streets.

Anything else...?
I don't want to be anyone or anything else except Sik Lew Kokran. I also want people to know that I put a premium on the lyrical dexterity that has been sorely lacking in the realm of hip-hop. I pledge to leave my heart, soul, blood, sweat, and tears on wax for my audience to dissect and adopt as their own.
