Most bands can be classified into one specific type of music. But, how often is it that you hear a band that has a unique sound, while still staying true to their music?
Why this name?
Our buddy Chaz came up with the name. We all liked it and decided that it fit us well.
Do you play live?
Tympanic Hideout has a very ambitious schedule for the summer of '05. Currently we are scheduled to play at Route 66 Summerfest, and The Rolla Moose Lodge. We are sure to be in Columbia, Springfield, and St. Louis throughout the summer, though.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet allows unsigned bands to post their own music and to be heard by millions of fans worldwide. It really opens the window for trying musicians.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the opportunity arises - sure. But the internet is a good way to get a jump start and establish a devoted fan base.
Your influences?
All types of music have influenced JETM. Bands like Days of the New, Tool, Tom Petty, Stone Temple Pilots, Pink Floyd, Marcy Playground, Megadeth and many more.
Favorite spot?
Columbia, Missouri - really great college scene, plus lots of cool music to be heard.
