The band Rally Days is a modern rock/funk/punk band looking to make music that is not pinned down to just one style and genre. We want to do it all! We are just four guys looking to make a difference in the music of today and not follow the crowd. 'Everyday is a Rally Day....'

Why this name?
Where did the name Rally Days come from you ask? Well here is the story as told by the man who came up with the name, Jared: "If I may, I'll begin with a brief story about the naming of the band. I was driving with my father who used to race rally cars (off road racecars). A few of us were in the car including my mother. . . who isn't too fond of my dad driving like an asshole. Anyway, he's driving like a puss down the highway letting himself get cut off and passed, etc. So what do we do? We start making fun of him. . . "Back in your rally days you'd be flying down this road, back in your rally days you'd never let that old woman pass you..." And there we had it, wow, what a great name for a band, Rally Days. But it was more than the fact that it sounded cool (and I don't give a rats ass if you don't think it sounds cool), it was the meaning behind it. For my father his rally days were the time when he could race offroad and take risks and be adventurous, not to say he isn't living life to the fullest now, but he could feel that natural high, that adrenaline rush, the thirst for life. And it hit me these are my rally days. And now comes my position on punk rock. Your only young once, and you only get one chance at life so why waste the chance, why throw it away. . . why not live everyday as your rally days. Live your life to the fullest. . . It was so cool to me that my father was a rally car driver, because he loved to do it so rather than saying I want to be a rally car driver he went out and raced rally cars. . . he lived his dream. There was no concern for bills and society's bullshit. . . there was just the life given to him and the world to live it in." So thats where that name came from,
Do you play live?
Yes we play out alot in the NJ/NY area and it is really exciting to get our music out there and see how people like it. Actually there were 2 pretty cool moments that we had playing out. One was at a hellfest battle of the bands where we had people come on stage and sing along with us on te chorus. The other is when the band before us didn't bring anybody and weren't allowed to play, so we went on early. We had to improvise a 1/2 hour of the show cause we didn't have enough material. We played covers we never played together before and jammed on a couple songs, it was alot of fun.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, the internet has changed the music industry in alot of different ways, good and bad. It helps musicians with networking with other musicans getting advice, gigs, reviews, etc. It also helps studio musicians cause now some of them don't even have to leave home for a session recording, the can communicate their music over the web. There is a sea of knowledge and contacts all over the world that musicians have access too. But its a double edged sword cause there are also people just looking to rip unsuspecting musicians off and are scam artists. So the internet does affect the music industry in many ways, most that can work to your advantage if you are careful and do your homework.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If everything checked out in the contract and it was a good deal, sure. It can take a lot of responsibilty off of the musicians shoulders and leave more time for creating music which is what its all about. But you have to be extra careful that you aren't getting the short end of the stick in the deal.
Band History:
The evolution of Rally Days: The lead singer/guitarist and bassist are brothers and have been playing together for a while. They decided to get a punk rock band together with one of their friends who was a drummer. So they started playing togther and called themselves Rally Days. Then that drummer left the band and the two brothers had to find another drummer. They found someone and took their music in a new direction. They changed their music to more of a heavier rock sound. They came out with a demo album after a couple of years. Their second drummer shortly after making the demo went off to join another group that was growing in popularity. Rally Days had all but given up when a publisher became interested in their music which got them searching for a new drummer. They found one a few months later and thought they might need a second guitarist to help fill out the band. So they brought in a friend they had known for a while to play guitars/keyboards and that is where Rally Days is at now. Don't forget 'Everyday is a Rally Day....'
