I'm 16 years old, living out of Jersey...I first picked up a guitar in 2001. I play Metallica, Dream Theater, Incubus, and just a bunch of different odds and ends. I am not actually 'a band' but wanted to make a SoundClick after playing around with Cool Edit Pro).
Why this name?
It's my name.
Do you play live?
I don't play live, but if i do, it would be once I get a band together...which I am having a bit of trouble doing. So if you live in the Southern New Jersey area and want to get something going, email me.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Absolutely for the better...it is much easier now to get your stuff out there and advertise your music by yourself at no charge (besides the monthly internet fees).
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
....If i could be that lucky I would probably cry. It would be a dream but I know as most others do, how hard it is to make a name for yourself or be heard and liked or respected. All I want to do is make music...I would not mind 'selling out' because people get too crazy about that kind of thing when it is not really that terrible. In fact it is almost like the fans or a band are too selfish to let them see success, and that is why they get angry when they 'sell out'. Digressing from the point, I would love to sign with a major label...or even a small label. It'd also be nice to create my own label in the future.
Your influences?
My influences greatly include Jimi Hendrix, Kirk Hammett, Dimebag Darrell (RIP), and John Petrucci. Jimi Hendrix really played with feeling and had a pretty mellow style compared to today. Kirk Hammett inspired me to learn crazy riffs, licks, and solos outside of normal punk rock and anything too pop-esque and mainstream. John Petrucci of Dream Theater is just the best, haha. I would LOVE to be like him some day.
