DBS - raper and cool brawn from KArvina (Czech republic).
Why this name?
These three letters are first letters of my name, nick and surname.
Do you play live?
Of course I play live. Check www.rs-ent.com/dbs and there are listed all my (more than 300) live-appearances.
Live shows are chance to see "on-line" if Your music is interesting for people or not. I like it.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it gives chance to more "ordinary", but skilled people present results of their work. But on the other side - too much CD-RW drives take part of artists earnings. And how everybody nows - everything costs... ;-)
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I have record contract with major label Universal Music (Czech republic). They released my first album "DBS - 6ka" at the end of 2004. But my 2nd album will be propably released only by my own label Rhymes Street Entertainment.
Band History:
If we pass over home experiments with recording on "double casette player" in 1994, DBS (aka DAvid) got to wider awareness in 1998 when there appeared his 3 first songs on the legendary Czech (KArvina) compilations Rhymes Street Squad. He contributed with next songs to continuations of RSS compilations released in 2000 and 2001 (+ vinyl in 2000) as well as the rest of KArvina groups and soloists (Chimi Changas, 2. System, Banda MC Fi-Bi, Politicke radio, Killa Zombii, Fini HC Reporter aka H.C.F., Chang (& Tanita), WRzKA, DiGaZ, ...).
The tapes and CDs with Rhymes Street Squad compilations got quickly to all corners of Czech, Slovakia, Poland and even also to Germany, USA, Lithuania, ... That all without any management or distribution in that time.
In years 2001 - 2003 DBS universally played concerts (e.g. as forerunner of legendary GangStarr, and worldwide respected artists like DJ Vadim, PMD & DJ Honda, ...), recorded songs for Czech and foreign compilations, featurings and worked on his first album "6ka". It was released in 2004 by cooperation of Rhymes Street Entertainment with Universal Music and there are made 4 videos (see links below), which met with cool feedback (more than 3000 people download them every month from internet, they play in various music programmes not only in Czech TVs, …).
You can find samples of music and live appearances on concerts or in TV, videoclips, photos, etc. at DBS's site www.rs-ent.com/dbs (which is also in english language).
