Gates of Enoch - Unholy U.S. black metal from Houston, TX.
Why this name?
Enoch was the 1st unholy kingdom according to the Bible. It was the root of all technology and free thinking individuals. The band uses this symbolism to represent various views, theories, and individual ideas.
Do you play live?
The band was formed by ex-members of Crimson Massacre who have toured locally and in various countries. Our 1st show as Gates of Enoch will be in Houston, TX on October 30th. We will be a part of the Samhain Fest that is held here every year.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Mp3s give potential fans a chance to hear the music before buying a cd or paying to see a band live. We feel that sharing music on the internet is the best way for any band to promote themselves and recieve the deserved exposure. That is what's important for us. Even if a complete album is shared on the internet, in time the band will be more well-known and more people will show up for live shows to support the band. We're not focused on making money. Our goal is to spead our chaotic hymns of darkness worldwide.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Major mainstream? More than likely, no. Mainstream labels focus on changing bands to make as much money as possible. Not only do the bands not get the majority of this money, they have to change their sound to meet the needs of the record label. We would definitely sign to a label willing to work with us as far as promoting us and getting our music distributed on a large scale, but we will never sign to a label who would want to transform the band into something to profit from.
Band History:
Gates of Enoch was formed in late 2003 by ex-Crimson Massacre members, Krullenzith (vocals) and Deadaons (guitar), with the objective to compose chaotic and technical structured anthems that will be spread throughout the U.S. black metal scene. Material is now being written for the upcoming full length release entitled "Enochian Invocation".
