BlakDrag is the name and Wildlife Records/Str8 Gutta is the squads. I been in the Rap Game all my life steady living it and throughout the years I've moved from King William Co.(KillaWeed) to Bad Newz, Va (Newport News) and still reppin'. I represent the deep down that most of these gimmick artist don't touch on, and most importantly I'm real. I joined the already up and coming group Immortal Suspects years ago when I was still back in King William Co., and when I moved to Bad Newz I was recruited by the group CMD after one of the members (Flawless) heard me spittin numerous times. I'ma do this til' I'm dead or too old, signed or not so either love it or hate it, one.
Why this name?
I've always had a focus on fire so as I kept refering to it in my rhymes, the name just stuck wit me over the years.(Believin' Love And Knowledge Dreams Realness And Greatness)
Do you play live?
In battles and cyphers mostly but I perform at shows throughout VA. For the most part though I spit with the real heads that understand and can appreciate real.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's just another way to be heard without having to travel.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No question because it's all about feeding the family. That's why I focus so hard on making real music because I don't have the time or energy for the whole battling scene. (Been There Done That)
Your influences?
Roc from Helter Skelter, Pac, Styles P, Jay-Z, Joe Buddens and some local artist from around the way that feel the same way I do, Feel Me.
Favorite spot?
Newport News(Bad Newz) cause they show love to the real hungry MC's
Equipment used:
The people that make beats for me use just about everything from the DR,ASR, Triton, and Fruity Loops. I just focus on engineering my studio through MAGIX and my penwork.
