Jenae plays some piano and writes some of her songs including "In a box" which Corey Johnson her Country and Pop Rock producer added drums, guitar and made it the song it is today. Jenae is also working with some beats from ANSANE. Those will be released soon to listen to.

Do you play live?

Yes I do play live. Last show I played was in Rochester New York. It was a great benefit concert. I am hoping to have updated tour for 2008 soon.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

The internet is a great place for the music industry. Easier way to get your music out there. Which is why we have so many independent artists. Only thing that makes it hard is there are so many independent artists its hard to get noticed this way for some reason. Unfortunately its always going to be who you know in the industry and how much you can afford to promote yourself. Always best to have a good manager and a great music lawyer that can help you along the way.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes I would if the offer allowed me to keep my creative controll as thats important to me. I understand my first couple of albums I probably would not have creative controll. Eventually I would want to retain some creative controll cause thats what makes my music me :)

HOW I MET MY COUNTRY / POP ROCK PRODUCER:

Jenae first met her producer Corey Johnson November 11th, 2001 through the internet. Jenae worked as a karaoke host and she was promoting one of her shows on the net to try to get it busier, she happened to email Corey. Corey came down to her show and listened to her sing and how she was so good with the people at karaoke, he decided to invite her to the studio to write a song with him. Once he heard her sing and write to that song. He loved her voice, thought she was transcendent. So they have been writting together since November 12, 2001. They have over 100 songs written.

Your influences?

Growing up I listened to my idols "Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey & Celine Dion" I know diva's but that is all I liked to listen to. I also listened to a lot f Vanessa Williams and as I got into my teenage years I listened to alot of Tori Amos and Alanis Morisette which introduced the rock part of me. When I moved to Branson Missouri when I was 15 that is where the Country music took over me and I started listening to "Leanne Rimes and the Dixie Chicks and recently I listen to Martina Mcbride, Rascall Flatts and Carrie Underwood" I listen to everything. I actually love R&B and my favorite artist right now is "Alicia Keys"

Favorite spot?

My favorite city I have to say is "New York" great memories there doing the show and I love how busy the city is

I use a NTK RHODE microphone. I record most of my stuff on cubase sx 3 for recording software.

Currently Singing in a 80's Tribute Band "THE NORMALS" Come see us. We are currently touring different area's of Canada. So far Quebec City, Edmonton, Grand Prairie, Fort Mac, and more....
