DJ X TECH is just me and some friends, who i like to refer to as my producers. they have to put up with listening to every single song i make and tell me wether its good or not, so shout outs to all and you know who you are!!! i started working on music back in 1998 when i found a little drum sequencing program on the internet by accident. once i started putting beats together i wa shooked and couldnt go a day without doing something. my cousin and i found the program together and he is now a famous hip hop artist in europe, (poland to be exact). you can check their music out at www.yezyezyo.pl even if you dont understand the words im sure that you will enjoy the music quality. as for me, everything is starting to move on the right direction finally. the first CD is finished, the website is up www.djxtech.com starting to get calls back from demos sent out and so forth. check out the website and music, im here to help as well, i know what its like to start off at the bottom, so if you would like me to add a link to your site from mine or even create a webpage for you on my site with some of your music and contact info then just get back to me. if you are in the chicago arae and would like to be part of a music video or maybe a joint-collaboration on some music, hit me up as well. laterz
Why this name?
well. this one was tough. i couldnt think of anything catchy, so i settled for what was in the begining DJ X. i shortly afterwards realized there already was a DJ X when i found his album in a music store on day. so, i converted to DJ TECH, however, once again, there already was a DJ TECH around. So i basically decided to merge the 2 together and you have DJ X TECH.
Do you play live?
i have played live. i love it, nothing better than seeing people move to your music. i dont do it much due to time constrictions such as work and family but whenevr i do get out there i bring down the house.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
the internet is a great tool, as long as you know how to market it. theres billions of sites out there. you need to do something more than just put a domain up, thats easy. the hard part is coming up with a master plan to get your name out there and so people will actually find your site. the music business is definately not a shy persons forum. you have to be a salesman, call up your local radio stations, talk to djs at clubs, let everyone you meet know your an artist, give demos out everywhere, find newspapers and magazines to advertise in. i think that the mp3 revolution is awesome. some downsides to it, is illegal downloading, but hey, were in it for the music not the money right??? if someone chooses to steal something that youve worked very hard on, then you cant do anything about it. however, the positive note to it is that musicians can sell virtual albums. you have th eoption of selling your music not only on CD format (which is expensive) but as a download, which is not expensive. i think itll come around one of these days.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Actually i just have, i recently signed a record contract with Statue Records which is a major label outside of Hollywood CA. CD is set for release on feb 2nd www.statuerecords.com
Band History:
the history is basically in the bio on the top of the page.
Your influences?
too many to name. there are some people who only listen to metal, some only rap, some only hip hop. i really appreciate music as a whole. i find influences from everywhere but just to name a few... eminem, prodigy, metallica, megadeath, paul van dyk, paul oakenfold, plastikman, happy hardcore, ludacris, dr dre, snoop dogg, atb, dj keoki, the mighty dub kats, dj r fresh, ozone, astral projection, oasis the list really could go on forever, ive known my whole life that i have a kinship with music, its in my blood and ive always listened to all kinds of music, i myself have even done some hip hop in the past even though my main genre is techno/trance.
Favorite spot?
i really dont have one, i find many places to be interesting. although one place that i am driven to go and see is london.
Equipment used:
i use alot... roland, korg, steinberg, acid pro 4.0,
ive even put together a song with fruity loops, if you can beleive that one... sound forge, cd architect so on and so on and so on. most techno/trance artists will know what i use, pretty much the standard equipement for making electronic music
