Since birth, Erik has been involved in every aspect of music -- from dancing to it as a toddler, to writing, arranging, teaching, recording, directing, conducting, and performing it today.

Erik has always grown up around music. When he was in his mother's womb, he was played music by the greats -- Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Rachmaninoff. He grew up in the Methodist Church and was always around music in every aspect of life. As he got older, he set out to discover music that he could make. After starting private lessons in third grade and after many failed attempts, he went on to play with audition-only groups in middle school and high school. Deciding to take his passion for music and his love of teaching children to the next level, he studied at the Ithaca College School of Music and received his Bachelor of Music in Education degree in 2002. His musical journey has taken him through composing, performing, recording, directing, conducting, teaching, and most importantly -- understanding and enjoying music.

While saxophone and voice are Erik's first loves, he currently enjoys performing and recording drums, bass, and fiddling with keys. Erik has been known to pull out an orchestra for back-up in the middle of a solo recital, play Evanescence for his students, drum in his apartment, and sing show-tunes in the shower.
Do you play live?
Erik lives, plays, and thrives in the cultural epicenter of the world -- the New York City metro area.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The simplest way I can answer that question is this -- you're listening to my music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
In a heartbeat.
Your influences?
A cross between Beethoven and the blues, Rachmaninoff and Rush, and everything in between.
Equipment used:
Bari-tenor Voice, E-Mu Proteus 1000, Roland V-session electronic drum kit, Selmer Super Action 80 Series II alto saxophone and Series III soprano saxophone, Carvin BB70 bass, Tascam DM-24 digital mixing console, Gateway 700s running Sonar 5 Studio and Propellerhead Reason.
Anything else...?
I do engineering for other people, too! Check out my other stuff!
