How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The amateur music industry definately is aided by the internet and downloadable files. Bands get their start from a website, nowadays. Plus, gear is getting cheaper and cheaper every month and more people are getting into the industry out of their bedrooms. On the other hand, the music biz has been suffering money losses which results in the "down-sizing" of the engineer crowd (so to speak).
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If it's paying the bills while at the same time spreading the knowledge and love of music that I personally want to convey, I'll sign a record contract with anybody.
