Don't you hate it when people describe themselves as an "Eclectic mix" or a "Unique blend" of something ? I certainly do.
That said, Chris Quigley's music is a unique blend of Rock & Country, incorporating an eclectic mix of elements of Folk and sometimes even electronica.
Why this name?
I was born with it
Do you play live?
I play live as often as possible, as a solo acoustic artist or with a full band whenever I can get something together. I love it ! The soecial moments are too numerous to mention, but my favorites are the moments where there is a true synergy occuring onstage with my fellow musicians. Wait, that's my second favorite, my FAVORITE moments are when hot chicks are screaming and cheering and occasionally flinging undergarments at me.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Technology frightens me, but it does allow me to reach audiences that I normally could never reach.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Duh.
Band History:
Chris Quigley is an acoustic-style singer, guitarist and songwriter who has been involved in Phoenix's local music scene for more than a decade. His many experiences include being lead guitarist for the band Big Orange Thing, an early '90's group that enjoyed local success playing such venues as Hollywood Alley, The Silver Dollar, The Sun Club and The Mason Jar. Later, Chris played with his brother Ric in his "weekend" band The Sex Fajitas and spent much of his time writing and recording in his home studio as a solo artist. Chris was also involved in various other musical projects, contributing his original instrumental recordings to "Reflective Light," an arts program on WDET in Detroit, MI., and scoring the pilot episode of "The Mel Levine Show" for WGN. Chris has been known occasionally to be found playing in coffee houses such as Fiddler's Dream, Willow House and Borders Books & Music, supporting his two CDs - Roman Candles and Privilege of Youth. He was also the lead singer for Fuzzy Stone, an exciting local band that played througout the valley in 2003. He is currently writing and recording new material for a number of projects in 2004. Chris is a Libra and his favorite color is green.
