What's going on hip hop heads!!! This style of music has come a long way from the gangster rap days, to the bling bling era, to whatever the hell it is now.... This new artist has also come a long way. He is from Africa (Ghana), he's focused, and he plans on making it big, I mean BIG big. So check him out, he is unlike anything the world has ever known from his deep and somewhat raspy voice to his heavenly bone chillin' beats to his wild sense of fashion. Download a few of his trax (matter of fact all of 'em) and let me know what y'all ponder.... Holla!
Why this name?
Homie : The "D" in D-Core stands for dirty, so it is in fact "Dirty Core". This is a name that might change to Safari, he claims he is having a hard time choosin'. Let him know y'all, what should it be? "D-Core.....or "Safari"? Post your brain work.
Do you play live?
Homie : D-Core is just now in the process of recieving local recognition and hasn't really performed anywhere live yet but will start doing so very soon.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
D-Core : I think that it really helps a lot since you don't even have to drive out to a store to shop for cds. Since I'm not yet a major artist I don't have anything to lose by people downloading all my stuff for free, but I know I'll be talking crap about free-loaders once I get signed and blow up.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
D-Core : Hell yes! That's actually the main plan - Sign a major, make enough money to sprout my own branch (label), do that, and live happily.
Your influences?
D-Core : I have a lot of inspiration in me, Tupac is a big one alhtough I must say I don't flow or sound nothing like him (Thank God cuz too many have). I also drew a lot of flava from Bone Thugs back in their day, one of my new soon-to-be-recorded songs resemble their style a bit but not enough to be accused of bitin. Other than that I think I'm very original, especially beat wise. My music will be a fresh new kind of breeze for folks to feel.
Favorite spot?
D-Core : I haven't travelled enough to say what my favorite place is, but it will probably be somewhere in Europe or Australia,... I guess I'll find out once I start doing tours n stuff.
Equipment used:
D-Core : I don't have enough cheese to buy all the hi-tek studio equipment so I use Fruity Loops ( a virtual sequencer/drum machine ) to hook up the backdrops. Iv'e been using it for quite some time now and it's truly amazing what you can accomplish once you get into it.
Anything else...?
D-Core : I'm hype about comin' out into the world with somethin' new for tired ears and I can't wait to hear y'all's comments on what I'm puttin' out. Stay up and keep one of those five senses out for me cuz I got a feelin' I'll be rockin crowds here very soon. Peace and Chaos.
