Do you play live?
Yes, we do, our next gig is on 28 August in Berlin at K17. Performing live is a crutial part of being a band so it would be really strange not to like it. Each and every moment of it is special.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Entirely, however, when progress is concerned thete must be changes.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Surely!
Band History:
The band consists of Magda (voice) and Olaf (sound). The idea for our music was fascination with new romantic, new wave and electro clash. At the very beginning the band was called LEN, consisted of four people and the music was inspired by new wave ( Joy Division and New Order ).After some hard times with the band we`ve decided to form NUN consisting only of the two of us and the computer :) The band has been started in 2000. At the beginning we sounded very simple but soon we enriched our equipment with some more sophisticated tools.
In 2001 we have recorded a demo “This Is Electro Pop” including 14 songs in electo clash style with an influence of new romantic and synthie pop. The demo was sent to three most powerful and meaningful labels on the Polish market – one of them reacted positively. We also performed our first show at the presentation of independent bands in Wroc³aw in 2001. This led us to a Polish TV3 programme on which we presented our first song called "Silence". The thirty-minutes-long programme was called “Wkrêt” and was devoted to young bands wanting to promote their music.
Atfer that in 2002 we released a song on a “Football-EP” for Sissy Rec./BMG Poland – the only Polish label interested in our music at that moment. Our contribution to the record was a cover of a song from the 70`s devoted to Polish football team. We appeared there with such well known Polish bands as: Homosapiens, Futro and Cool Kids Of Death. Half a year later our songs "Stop!" and “I Don`t Know How” appeared also on the soundtrack of a Polish science-fiction thriller called "Arche". In 2003 Magda appeared in an project of a well known Polish artist – Smolik. It was his second album called “Smolik 2”. The song is called "Or" and it closes the record.
In 2003 we had a proposal of releasing our record at Black Flames Records – an electro label from Poznañ, Poland. Thanks to that we have also started our cooperation with Falk Berger - the frontman of Das Schwarze System, who initialy was supposed to be the producer of our album. The cooperation resulted in three remixes of our songs : "Stop!", "Blind" and "Light". Consequently, Falk’s remix of “Stop!” reached the first place of an electro chart - mp3.wp.pl in only 3 days. In the end we didn`t sign the contract with Black Flames and decided to produce our album ourselves. In October 2003 a portrait of our band appeared in SYNTHETICS - a German magazine devoted to synthie pop, electro and alternative music. Our demo was also chosen to be the album of the month there.
Recently we`ve finished working on a new sound which will find its reflection in the new material prepared for our debut album, which wouldn`t be created without the inestimable help of our friend Tadeusz Kaliciak – the frontman of Sacri Synth who has been devoting his time to us, giving advice as well as sharing all his knowledge connected with the technical side of the creation process. The debut album will consist of twelve partly old and partly new sounding songs. We`re also signing the contract with AMV Alster.
