Misery In The UK

Er... I just have a lot of free time. I'm always been quite fond of Goth Rock(and Darkwave and all those other similar thingies) so I thought I might try and write some myself. I'm a complete amateur when it comes to music software and hardware, I just like fiddling round with things. I also can't sing... but Ihope i can make up for that with enthusiasm :)
Why this name?
My nickname was Misery and I live in the UK so I just liked the sound of it. I hope The Sex Pistols don't mind! Since I'm attempting to be vaguely 'gothic' I also thought I might go for something a little bit cheerless, if only for my own cheesy amusement.
Do you play live?
I don't play live, no. I wouldn't know where to begin! I think I probably need other band members but so far it's difficult to find people who like the same sort of thing.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, it's a nice way for fledgeling bands to share their music I suppose, and established ones if they'd like to.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I sincerely doubt they'd sign me (it will become apparent when you hear the sort of crap I put out). Anyways, I just like making music for fun.
Your influences?
Frank The Baptist, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, Dreadful Shadows
Favorite spot?
London, where I live (when I'm at uni at least)
Equipment used:
Goldwave (on PC), Casio CTK 491, Yamaha keyboard (I don't know what design), cheap mic and any bits of 'found sound' I decide to record... i.e me hitting stuff on other stuff usually.
