Creativity, simplicity, and meaning are three of things tht I really value in my music. I'm a singer/songwriter who performs with my acoustic guitar.

Creativity: When I'm writing a song, I try to be different. I'm not alright being a soundalike of someone else. At the same time, I wouldn't write things that I didn't like.

Simplicity: One of the things I really enjoy about being a solo artist is simplicity. I try not to bother with guitar effects that can easily have mechanical problems. I love the pure sound of guitar and singing.

Meaning: When I write lyrics they are always meaningful to me. Whether it's something that makes me laugh or cry, there's always a human quality to my songs which allows people to relate to me as a musician and a person.
Why this name?
Well...I'm a solo artist, it's my name.
Do you play live?
Yeah. I can be found playing at a Coffeehouse in Chehalis called the Matrix almost any given Thrusday. I love playing live, there's something magic about just being in front of people and being able to share what you've created .
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it a lot easier to be able to share your music and make contacts.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Couldn't say. I can do everything on my own, I don't NEED to be signed with anyone.
Band History:
My career in music started long ago.... When I was 4, I made a drum out of a coffee can. I played it until it broke. At this point I also insisted I wanted to play the retard. I'll remind you I was 4 and knew nothing about being politically correct. In school I learned to play viola and clarinet and was in choir. I didn't enjoy the dull song selections of my music teachers which caused me to quit the school music program pretty quick. I started to play guitar when I was 13. As a freshman, I signed up for a guitar class. I was disappointed when I learned nothing. Teaching myself to play has allowed me to develop my own style and structure much faster than those who are taught by someone else. My first ventures in performing and writing were during my 2 years of involvement with a local church. While they were comfortable letting me sing, they wouldn't let me play guitar or share my songs feeling that I was a threat. They were able to justify their actions by saying that I needed to practice with them. After a couple months, it became obvious that it was because I wasn't male. Although I was eventually allowed to do an Easter Special, it wasn't fair for me to have to be a silent artist. So...me and a couple of equally fed-up friends formed a band. Clearform continued for a year before I ventured out to work solo realizing that the band wasn't what I wanted. As a solo artist, I've been performing since November of '03. Working solo gives the creative freedom to write what I want and has also given me a lot of performing freedom. I've performed locally at Matrix Coffeehouse and at venues in Olympia. Right now, with a new cd, I'm planning extend my performing experience to Seattle and Portland.
