The Mark Wilson Band are doing a one off band gig at the Lancashire Music Collective on October 22nd. The band will be made up of Bass (Daz Woodcock), Drums (Ollie Mason), Organ (Old Man Chris), Percussion (Damo)and Mark.

Supporting Roland Chadwick

Mark is due to support Australian Roland Chadwick at The Tavern on Saturday 12th November. Roland has been on tour with Aussie guitar wizzard Tommy Emmanuel.

Troubadour

Mark has been booked to perform at the famous troubadour in London on October 13th. Mark is really looking forward to his first London gig at a venue where the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell have played.

Cardiff Gig

Mark is due to support Mat Deighton band leader of Mother Earth. Mat has been guitarist on tour with both Paul Weller and Oasis. The gig is on Thursday 23rd September at The Toucan Club in Cardiff.

The Wickerman Festival appearance

On Friday 23rd July Mark was called upon last minute to play on the acoustic stage at The Wickerman Festival in Dumfries, Scotland. There were also performances from two other St.Helens
bands; Giant Root Attack and Electrocoop. A review will be posted shortly.

New recording in the pipeline

Mark is due to record his debut album at Parr Street studios in Liverpool over the next few months. This album will be made up of the best tracks from the 2 demo albums as well as new material.

Mark Wilson is a solo acoustic performer based in St. Helens, Merseyside. Taking influence from artists such as Nick Drake,John Martyn & Bert Jansch, Mark blends classic songwriting with
innovative ideas and styles. Mark incorporates a wide range of approaches to guitar playing including tape looping, finger picking, slap technique and use of the guitar body as a percussive instrument.
Marks voice has been described as powerful yet extremely warm, and accompanies his virtuoso guitar playing wonderfully.
