Tunes here are, one way or another, "space music," with a lot of inspiration from sci-fi movies and literature. Most in an ambient style.

My other SC page - OwlRockProductions - is eclectic, I take a lot of twists and turns in my interests.
Why this name?
"The Snake Pit" was the bar in Blade Runner, where the snake girl worked.
Do you play live?
No chance, I hate performing.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Gives folks like me, who don't like to perform, a way to be heard. Ultimately will change the entire nature of the industry. But so far most of the establishment has taken a very reactionary view and not adapted quickly or well.

I like the way the internet sort of blurs the line between artist and fan. I'm as much a fan of music here at SC as anything else.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Then what would I do to escape from my day job? Actually, I'd like something I've done to be useful to someone somehow sometime - compilation, game, film, website (web audio content development, music and otherwise, will become more and more important over next few years, I predict). So my aspiration is not really "getting signed," and I'll keep making music for the heck of it.

Band History:
Oh, its the same old story - "I heard one guitar, it just blew me away, I saw stars in my eyes, and the very next day, I bought a beat up six string..."
Your influences?
prog rock, classical music, film soundtracks, electronica (I esp. like ambient, mellow, and "trip-hop" (what that means to me, anyway), but other genres, too), a little taste of jazz (really jazz-rock fusion), just a bit-o-blues
Favorite spot?
My back porch.
Equipment used:
Pro Tools Free, Acid (the software), a few guitars a rarely used bass, a little Peavey Rage 108 practice amp, a cheap keyboard, a Danelectro Daddy-O distortion pedal, a Boss DR-220A Dr. Rhythm drum machine, and caffeine (the drug).
Anything else...?
Allow me to plug my station
-->>artificialowl82'a station<<-- still under construction but I think it's pretty cool, a home for space/ambient/mellow/mid and slow tempo/electronica/slighty weird-n-occasionally trippy music.

Here I will add links to every artist on my station - (but obviously I've just begun :))
