What up, this ya girl Quann da Girl Wonda. Don't get it twisted though, cause I don't play the side kick, ya heard. Hittin em up all day e'ry day here in the DC Metro area. I've said it before and, I'll say it again " I'm the hottest chick spittin"
Why this name?
Quann is a play on my birth name. The girl wonda part, well it just fits, cause I'm like a super hero to the rap game. Especially reppin for the ladies.
Do you play live?
Yeah, I do. I gig at any venue that will allow me to showcase my talents in DC, NJ, NC, VA, and MD. I love performing live, it's a rush, for sure. My special moment probably would be, back in 2000 when Mos Def and D'Angelo were in DC for a concert. D got sick, show got cancelled, and Mos ended up at this little club in DC called the Metro Cafe'. Well his then unknown band Black Jack Johnson killed it. He asked if DC had any heat spitters. My man's pretty much threw me on stage. The band played a hot pocket beat, and I killed it. After 16 bars, the crowd was buggin out, and Mos Def was left standing astounded, mouth open and all. That was so I'll yo, I still talk about that night to this day. When I see him again he just might remember me.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives cats like myself an opportunity to expose my craft to whoever should want it. It also allows people otherwise seperated by miles and oceans to connect on a common level, music. It's a beautiful thing.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yeah, if they talking some good S@#%. I done seen enough Behind The Music episodes to know not to get greased, ya smell me. I would prefer a distribution deal though, it's more lucrative.
Band History:

Quann hails from Oxon Hill, Maryland, a suburb outside of Washington DC. Quann has been perfecting her craft as a performing artist since 1996 and is ready to share her unique lyrical style with the world. Quann*s style is refreshing and up beat. She has the ability to make you get up and dance in one song and sit back and reflect in another. This goal is achieved through a technique she developed called "rapsody". "Rapsody" is a composition of words and rhyme carefully intertwined and manipulated through music that is designed to send her audience on an emotional roller coaster. Quann*s evolutionary style truly pushes the envelope and represents a gust of fresh air. Quann is quickly earning respect and popularity through the underground and grassroots marketing. She will be the next female rap superstar. Quann is currently featured in several singles released by Rip Da Scale Records and produced by Big Boy Beats entitled "Ride Wit Me", "Oh Yeah", "Before My Time", "The Streetz", "Feelin It", "Show-N-Prove", and "We Are On The Way".
Your influences?
My key influences are Lauren Hill(Fugees and Mis-Ed.days), Mos Def, and Missy. I love artist who can say the same stuff I say but in such a clever way. Missy is a genius as far as being a standout artist.
Favorite spot?
On stage no matter what city, state, etc.
Equipment used:
I record at Boiler Room Studios in PG Co. MD
It's home studio, we use ProTools to record.
