Wulfkult is an experimental music project formed by Rev. Chad Wells from the ashes of The Jackalopes. Wulfkult is Rev. Wells' attempt to make music that transcends style and genre. Wulfkult utilizes stylistic principles from many genres including (but not limited to) sound collage, noise, doom, black metal, industrial, punk, folk and traditional ethnic musics. Wulfkult is a very loose knit group consisting of Rev. Wells and any number of collaborators/co-conspirators.
Why this name?
The Jackalopes' fan club used to be called "The Wolf Cult". I wanted to maintain some sense of the history of the previous group as an homage to the band's success and popularity. I also felt that being swallowed up into one big "Cult" would be cool because it would then give the fans the possibility of becoming equals and collaborators. Wulfkult is open to collaboration with any and all like minded individuals and artists.
Do you play live?
Because we do not have a real solid/core membership, we do not currently play live but we will be working on putting together several different live experiences or rituals soon.
