Hailing from the Big Thicket region of East Texas, FREAK13 is a gothic heavy metal band equally mixing influences of Black Sabbath, Iced Earth, Pantera, Type O Negative and Mercyful Fate.
Why this name?
Under our first name Thirteen, we called our fans the freaks and when we decide to change we made our name a tribute to the fans, calling it FREAK13. Plus, it sounds like a kick-ass monster from a 1950s horror flick.
Do you play live?
We play live throughout the South and are about to embark on a full-blown tour.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows bands with a small budget to promote themselves throughout the world. On the other hand it has hurt a lot of bands ready to break big because of file sharing. We hope to use it to our advantage to spread the word about FREAK13 and build an even stronger fanbase.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Only if the deal was right. Money talks, bullshit walks. And we mean good money combined with artistic freedom and a good support staff. We'd much rather sign with a strong idependent label.

Black Sabbath, Iced Earth, Slayer, WASP, King Diamond, Type O Negative, Black Label Society.
