Hi! I am not really a band, I am just Clarke. I'm a singer / song-writer / multi-instrumentalist from Ontario, Canada.
Why this name?
I let my parents pick it. I think it suits me!
Do you play live?
I very rarely play live. When I do, it is just with an acoustic guitar. I can be seen at open mic nights from time to time.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I'll only speak for myself, as answering this question can turn into a novel. I love being able to give my music away to the people who want to hear it. My tunes will always be freely available online.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No.
Band History:
Clarke McMurray was born in March of 1970 in a small town in southern Ontario. He grew up around art and music - his mother is an artist and his father a musician. He has always had a passion for music, but did not start playing an instrument at home until the age of 16 when he got a keyboard as a gift from his father. Clarke joined his first band as a keyboardist and backing vocalist in 1988. He continued to perform in a variety of bands off and on until 1997 when he decided to devote time to writing and recording original music. He studied Producing and Engineering at the Harris Institute for the Arts in Toronto, and is currently working in the computer industry in Kingston. Clarke has recorded a number of original demos and cover songs. He has also created a lot of 2D and 3D artwork in his spare time. Once in a while, he will appear at an open mic night. And yes, he does do requests. He's always eager to hear from listeners.
