I think that it opens up a world of opportunity for an artist to get their music heard.

I would have to weigh the advantages and disadvantages once that opportunity is presented.

Her mama says she started singing in church as soon as she started talking. Mai Marie went to church every Sunday, a lead singer in the choir, while attending elementary, middle and high school in South Central Los Angeles. When she sings in church she elicits a range of emotion from sobbing to shouting.
She was a huge crowd favorite in talent shows and karaoke contests at school. During high school, she and two of her close friends formed a three-girl group. They collaborated on original songs and spent long hours in the studio with local producers meshing R&B/HipHop music with their lyrics. She also gained more experience in showmanship. After the group disbanded she found herself in demand to sing at festivals, weddings, church musicals and various other live performance requests.
This young cutie’s immediate interest now is to cultivate her songwriting skills and to make a living doing what comes natural and is so much fun for her—singing. She is truly a naturally gifted singer. She loves moving people with the instrument of her voice and gaining new fans from those who hear her for the first time. Mai Marie is not only a very good singer who can hear well and has great pitch control, but she also has a natural vibrato that gives her a tone that you just want to hear much more of. She is one of those extraordinary artists that effortlessly stimulate sensual, soulful and raw emotions by using a melodic voice that is not just heard, but also felt. In other words, she leaves a long-lasting impression deep in your soul.
Mai Marie is capable of singing a variety of styles—R&B, Pop, Jazz, Blues and of course her musical roots, Gospel.
Her influences are varied:
Mai Marie wants to be able to sing, write and produce like Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys; sing like she owns the song, while singing about real life situations and connecting with fans, same as Mary J Blige and Syleena Johnson; fill her fans with inspiration similar to Yolanda Adams and the Clark Sisters.
