Ashes of Babylon is a melodic Black/Death metal band from Phoenix Arizona. We bring a lot of different elements into our music without sacrificing aggression or songwriting. The band is currently preparing to record our first cd, which hopefully will be available in the near future.
Why this name?
Well, since some of our songs deal with history,we thought it would be cool to kind of tie in with that. Basically, it means the remnants of a dead society or empire.
Do you play live?
We are still auditioning drummers at the moment, once that is final we plan to play live as much as possible.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it gives bands like us a great opportunity to reach people all over the world who otherwise would have to go through the trouble of contacting us and waiting to get music in the mail, now they can get it in a few minutes anytime they want.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I think we would take this as far as it could go as long as we can make the music we want to, so we would definitely sign a record deal.

Dissection,Naglfar,Dimmu Borgir,Iron Maiden,Dark Funeral,Edge of Sanity etc.
Favorite spot?
probably different for each of us.
