Why this name?
I forgot... we like trees i think it had somthing to do with that. -sam-
Well my thought was always that deciduous trees seem to convey lots of different ideas, like growth and change- cycles, and summer, like the month of May is not normally a time when you think of trees that lose their leaves. So it paints an interesting picture that is there for anyone's personal interpretation. That's my take on it anyway. -brent-

Do you play live?
When we can, we play live and we love it. The advantage to the live show is the spontinaity of it all and the chance to present the songs in new ways as opposed to just playing the CD. -sam-
Hopefully we will have more opportunities for live shows in the future. We hope to incorporate more musicians to afford a thicker live sound than just the two of us could make. -brent-

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Its the chance to reach more people..which is always a good thing. -sam-
It allows bands to do a lot more on their own which is a great thing. It lets the artist have as much control as they want, and you can go far without a record label. Plus, it helps smaller labels to gain more exposure and grow. -brent-

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends on the label and the contract. -sam-
I'm not opposed to big labels. Look at the Flaming Lips, and they're on Warner Bros! I think it would all depend on the support we were offered and the influence that we could still control. I like being involved in all aspects of the band. -brent-

Band History:
Well here is a brief history:
Sam and I met in high school in Irving back in 1997 and started playing in a band together. After that band (Babyfishmouth) broke up, we continued to play together and develop songs that we really loved. We decided that we would form a band, and tried to find others to play with, but have never found anyone who stuck around. We continued on as a duo and recorded an album of eleven songs entitled The Soundtrack for Your Life in the spring of 1998. I soon moved to Austin but we kept the band going. We recorded a couple more songs in the spring of 1999 (Blue Tape EP). I studied audio production in Austin and was given access to a studio where we recorded the Physical Kitten in the summer of 2000. Since that time we have begun recording most of our stuff using computers. We've compiled another EP entitled Strange and Unexplained Phenomena and are now working on a new album.

Oh god we listen to everything... I think its important to have a huge base to draw from. -sam-
Favorite spot?
Sam loves the ocean.
Brent really likes mountains and forests. Once I went to Mt. Saint Helens in Washington and that was amazing!

Equipment used:
We will use just about any equipement we can get our hands on, including instruments we don't really know how to play.
