Svetlana comes from sweden, and represents some of the most downtuned, horrifying and disgusting drones in the doom metal scene today.
Deep growls are mixed with a very lo-fi production which contains feedback, experimental soundclips/guitar noise and other elements. A must hear if you like cult experimental bands like White Noise, or just about any drone band around...
Why this name?
It came from Josef Stalin's daughter, Svetlana Allilujeva. We wanted to name it after something that Josef loved, namely his daughter, since we love our project equally as much.
Do you play live?
Well, only really, really obscure places in sweden. No big shows. People usually leave right when we start... We hate those people...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It will give underground bands a better chance to distribute their music to other people, both fans and bands.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No, we don't want to be sell-outs...
