Eudoxia defies all stereotypes of a young ambitious artist new to the music scene. With the piano as her principal instrument, Eudoxia makes a unique dark/gothic sound paired with unique haunting vocals. In all its totality Eudoxia's music may not be called rock, but it is heavily influenced/inspired by rock's sub-genre, goth.
Why this name?
I was looking for a beautiful name for a vampire, which I could use, and I stumbled upon Eudoxia, the name of one of Anne Rice's vampires. Eudoxia appears in one of the Vampire Chronicles, Blood and Gold.
Do you play live?
Yes. But my music is so unique, that hardly any playing environment would suit me.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has done a lot and it has helped independent talented musicians out there.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. Given the opportunity, I would.
Band History:
I started out as Virgin Suicide, a solo act with diverse musical influences- from contemporary piano to emo and hardcore. After finding my musical voice and finding comfort in the gothic genre, I decided to change my artist name to "Eudoxia."
Your influences?
From the top of my head, Tori Amos, Darling Violetta, Nocturne, Filmnoir, Jack Off Jill, and Sabrina.
Favorite spot?
A silent corner in a park at night
Anything else...?
This is all a bunch of old stuff from my solo project. This page is more of something to go to if you wanna see what I've come up with in the past. My music now is quite different and to check that out, please go to Eudoxia Vervain. Many thanks for the interest in my music!
