Buffalo New Yorks's Middleman produce thought provoking, cancer-killing, old age-delaying postmodern pop-rock.
Why this name?
Brainpower...it's amazing what 4 heads can do!
Do you play live?
Sure we play live, mostly in the Western New York area; Buffalo, Niagara Falls, North Tonawanda. Also in Pennsylvania and Toronto. Playing out is the greatest thing ever.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes our material more available to people who probably would have never heard of us at all.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Absolutely, we'd also sell our souls to the devil ;)
Band History:
Middleman are a melodic alternative rock band from Buffalo, NY. They formed in November of 2003, and have been playing shows around Western New York in support of their first full-length album, Attention Shoppers. In the Summer of 2004 Middleman will return to the studio to lay down tracks for their highly-anticipated sophomore effort. Like all truly original music, the music of Middleman resists easy categorization. They fuse Beatlesque harmonies and compositional sensibilities with a riveting guitar and drum attack. The song lyrics range from scathing critiques of the dehumanizing forces in post-capitalist society, to the complexities of seducing lesbians. Any attempts to pigeon-hole their "sound" is further undermined by the fact that the band has three singers and songwriters, each with his own unique vision. One thing can be said with certainty, however: every song will take you somewhere different, and it will hardly ever be where you thought you were going. Middleman are:
Dennis Reed Jr. - Bass/Vocals
Eric Toye - Guitar/vocals
Ryan Henderson - Guitar/vocals
Carina Baldassarre - Drums

Favorite spot?
Being that I'm (Carina) answering this, I'm going to say Hollywood, there's so many bands out there, and it's just lovely.
Anything else...?
Once we had this cute little puppy named Rex. He used to crawl in the laundry basket right after we put the dry clothes in. We think it was because he liked the warmth. It must have reminded him of his mommy. Anyway, he was so cute sleeping in there. If you find Rex, please mail him back to us. You might want to put some fabric softener in the envelope with him. It will make him sleep better.
