What up to all y'all lucky listeners of the Veinmelter styly. We're an eclectic power funk trio outta Philly Pa. This recording may sound dope as hell but does no justice to our live shows. We've played with the likes of Galactic, Marc Ribot, Disco biscuits, Groove Collective, and shit... even Kid Rock. The sound is a raw, back-alley, fat mama groove that spans fron old boogaloo to The Police; from De La Soul to Dave Matthews. These are only comparisons for our groove is only our own. Why this name?
One of the funkiest albums ever made was Herbie Hancocks' "Headhunters". 4 tunes... 1 hour of music. The fourth tune off of that album is titled Veinmelter. Tribute style.
Do you play live?
We're the premier funk/fusion band outta Philly right now. We play Manhattan, State College, up and down the east coast and have some radio airplay on college radio. Check out our site at veinmelter.com for snippets of rare live grooves and mushroom stylings.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well We're here aren't we? nuff said.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Probably not... the industry has taken a kamikaze nose dive in recent years. We're happy playinng semi large venues for our fans to dig us intimately. We like our fans... and we like you liking us back small style.
