Band History:
Date of Birth: September 28,1980
Age: 23
Born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC, I found my roots with music at age twelve. I began singing on the youth choir at Shiloh Baptist Church and by age 16, I was singing with the adult choir. While in High school I sang with the Mount Tabor Gospel Choir, performing in school concerts and talent shows. During this time, I also realized I had a gift with words and began to freestyle rap songs. My infatuation with music allowed me the opportunity to sing in the 42nd Street play, obtain a small role in The Hungry Artist, a movie sponsored by SECCA production company, and I would “battle” at local night clubs. I also performed at Winston-Salem State University’s talent show with a rap group entitled Legacy. While in College at Winston-Salem State University, I performed in a talent show, joined a local rap group entitled Code Cipher and performed at the Sweet Auburn Springfest, originally called the Freak Neak in Atlanta, GA. The group split, I became a mother, graduated college in May of 2003 with a degree in Biology. I am currently working on my solo project in which my sound is soulful yet it reaches all sects form hip-hop, to R&B, even alternative- I describe my sound as an expression of mood. I write and sing my own songs; I have a producer that creates all my sounds form his own originality. The gift that I bring to music is my soul- my peace and my creative ability to write. It is more than singing the same old song but it is how you captivate and move the words of your song. My goal is to inspire young women to shoot for the moon and grab all the stars that are in reach.
