We are the peruvian rock fusion band Wanarpo Macho, our objective is to perform special and different music, without prejudice in mixing different rythms and styles in ours songs.
Why this name?
Wanarpo macho is important shrub because of their medicinal propertys. Our peruvian ancestors knew it and the knowledge was transmited between generations orally. And we wanted a peruvian name, something especial and unique, thats why we choose the name.
Do you play live?
Yes, Where? Every place where we are invited, and not invited too. Of course we like it, Wanarpo sounds more powerfull live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, its easy now to search and download music, music industry have to adapt to changes.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It depends, of money of course....
Band History:
The Peruvian rock fusion band Wanarpo Macho was founded in October 2003, their objective is to perform special and different music, without prejudice in mixing different rythms and styles in theirs songs, describing in theirs lyrics peruvian life with a positive message.
Wanarpo Macho parlayed their lively blend of salsa, pachanga, cumbia, reggae, ska and vernacular peruvian rythms such as festejo and huayno in a very hard and powerful rock environment. Wanarpo Macho is recording their first CD, and now you can hear the first single released "Mi condena" (My sentence), this song is being played in some local radio stations and you can downloaded it in our homepage: www.geocities.com/wanarpo_macho or here, in the music section.

All, we try to hear all rythms and styles, of course each member like a rythm more tan others ones. Well, we try to mix rock, with strong guitarrs with peruvian rythms like huayno and festejo, and mix with salsa and reggae too,
